Assignment 16. (is this really an assignment??)
I dunno, my right brain would probably go stale and rot away,
or i would have to save myself by typing up long long journal entries. [By the way, pen and paper's nice but I kinda like the Doogie Howser way. I love the freedom of deleting and the power of cut-&-paste :)].
All my random|crajee little adventures would go unshared, and i would never get to hear all about yours..
De would be a very unhealthy little worker without her
daily dose of humor.

Lunch, at a cute ma & pa restaurant off Patapsco Ave: a round of Cokes, crab soups, oyster sandwiches and my whiting sandwich. The three of us probably made an odd-looking group: my tallish white fifties mentor-of-sorts, the forties chinese consultant guy, and me (the korean-american youngun. ok, yeah, sometimes if i think about it in meetings or whatever, i feel very out of place). Anyway, the food was good, and it was actually kind of fun. at one point we were talking about the Ravens and sports and stadiums, and the Consultant mentioned that if we were into baseball, his firm had these great season seats at Camden Yards...
The Afternoon: One of my projects is over at the Eastern Avenue Pumping Station (the historic building next to the Harbor Marriott that houses the Museum of Public Works). My contact person there is the cutest old man - he kept showing me albums and albums of black & whites dating back to like 1914. Proud Papa of a Pumping Station.. I left before the newsmen came with their cameras: they were supposed to give an interview there with my Bureau Head or someone.
..wow, and it's already time to go home. getting out of the office is great :)
i'm basically out of the office ALL DAY (don't get too lonely w/out me :)
..one of our consultants is taking us out for lunch..! wonder where..? (ah, the little perks)

(yeah, i cheated and checked at webster.com first)
ok. i'm not too good at this, this is my list:
defrock
formed
deformed
frog-legged ;P
frodelicious (from the big-haired decades of the 60's, 70's and even 80's, an adjective for when you really "dug" someone's hair)
alright, i told you i was in a weird mood..
Do you ever get the sneaking suspicion that the "Close Door" button on elevators isn't actually wired to anything? I bet it's a huge conspiracy - it's just this dummy button that they install to give us passengers a false sense of control. I've never once seen the door actually close any faster because someone pushed "close door."
Iceberg Lettuce should be banned from food service use. Technically it shouldn't even qualify as food. [As I write, I'm having a heck of a time trying to fish out the real bits of food from the crunchy white trash in my Q''''o's Chicken Salad.]
It wouldn't have to mean all the Iceberg Lettuce farmers would go bankrupt-- I'm sure there's other uses for it.. I could see it being remarketed as the new, ideal packing peanuts - cheap, non-toxic, biofriendly...?
aiye. I'm in a strange mood. I do so wish it were friday today...
hm, i only get the 25th and the 1st --
24th dinner with family.
25th Christmas morning worship celebration at the MC (so i'll see ya there).
Otherwise ...?
So i guess i really don't have to take any days off. But that's too weird. I'll take at least the 24th i guess. i was thinking it would be great to go on a little day trip with my family or something but my mommy got hurt (putting up christmas lights by herself!) :*( - nothing too serious though.
fro, which days are you taking off for the holidays? i don't think i asked you if you were going to visit your parents (you are right)?
it's so weird having Christmas Day and New Years Day smack in the middle of the workweek - i can't decide which days to take off.
eewwie. But speaking of "k9"s - i got a forwarded email from someone whose dog just had a litter (they're trying to give them away)-- beautiful Golden labs -- wish i could show you the picture.

' ''' '' ' '' (assignment 14)
Woodstock. bought a woodstock tshirt from delias :) i love birds.
yo, i heard you were going to some driving class tonight right? be careful. it was just like driving in rain this morning (after i broke the layer of ice off all my windows - my car had turned into a popsicle overnight).. i didn't notice any icy spots when i stayed on the big roads. Is someone going with you? Actually it shouldn't be too bad, i don't think temperatures will be below freezing yet.
blasted, huh? You know, when you're a kid growing up in the states you hear all kinds of words on tv that you don't hear real people say (real people being your family/teachers etc). Most of those words i've found out later are brit words.. brits have the funniest words. koreans have fun words too..
american english needs some spice, man.
so what do you say girls? AVAM at 10am this saturday?
(I need to go a bit early, i'm probably going to be babysitting at 5-something.. and anyway they open at 10 so we won't have a load of other blokes getting in our way :P)
Tuesday, December 10
...thoroughly bored and insanely busy at the same time. (yes that is very possible)...
// You know, i walked the extra block in the *bitter* cold to Gina's for lunch today, and it was well worth it. i'd gotten into the habit of going to the other New York style salad bar (you know: korean owned buffet with hot american/chinese food, "sushi", korean banchan, and assorted fruits, veggies and salads, sold by weight). That one's actually cleaner and newer than Gina's but the food just isn't the same. Anyway, if you're ever downtown for lunch M-F Gina's is the place to go.
mm, yum. we should have a day to cook & bake up uncommon goodies.. french pastries, souffles, crumpets.. and we could buy some of those great farmers market fruit spreads, and gourmet cheeses. A deli down the street from here sells dozens of different horseradishes and mustards. And we could buy some of those great olives from the Frommagerie, fro! Actually we (my house) have been meaning to have a Cheese Party ... fun fun.
